Hardin-Jefferson ISD contracts with a third party to provide a low cost accident policy to cover students while they are at school. Due to liability immunity and a prohibition on gifts of public funds the district is unable to cover any medical expenses for injuries that happen at school. The district can and does provide secondary coverage for athletes during UIL regulated events and related practices.
